Technology Tools for Effective Classroom Management

Objectives:

  • Define "classroom management" and identify various classroom management strategies.
  • Explore several technology tools to help improve student behavior and build good learning habits.
  • Get hands-on experience with a few technology tools.

Pre-Session Activity - Please Do!

  1. Get an Edmodo account at http://www.edmodo.com.
    • Sign up for a free teacher account if you do not have one. The group code to join the Technology Tools for Effect Classroom Management group will be provided in the beginning of the session.
    • If you already have a teacher Edmodo account, the group code to join the Technology Tools for Effect Classroom Management group will be provided in the beginning of the session.
  2. Get a Google account at http://www.google.com and make sure you have access to Google Drive.
    • If you don't have a Google account, please create one. Make sure to bring this ID and password with you to the session.
    • If you do have a Google account, please make sure to bring this ID and password with you to the session.
    • In your Edmodo account, click the Library icon. Then click on Google Drive. Allow Edmodo to connect with your Google Drive account.
  3. On your smart phone download and install from the app store (Apple, Google Play, etc.). Note: They are all Free.
    1. Class DoJo
    2. Socrative Student
    3. One of the following QR code readers, if you don't already have one:
      1. Scan (Android/IOS)
      2. Barcode Scanner (Android)
      3. QR Reader for iPhone
