Blogs and Wikis Activities


Reflect on your Current Instructional Practice
  1. Use the Google Docs Instructional Practice Reflection document template to reflect on your instructional practice. Briefly list one way you currently teach which is "old school" and one way you think you could change your instructional practice to become "new school". Don't forget to save after each item you enter. We will discuss the completed document as a group.

Blogs
  1. Go to Blogs at WebTools4u2use and view the video on blogs. Spend some time exploring the resources on the page. You might also want to explore:
  2. Brainstorm with a partner some ways you could incorporate blogs into your own instructional practice. Use your account to create a document at GoogleDocs to save this brainstorm for sharing and reference later.
  3. Go to the second "Five to Test Drive" section which lists the most popular blog tools of 2008 on the Blogs page and choose one to use to create a blog for your class or a lesson you teach.
  4. List the URL of your new blog next to your name on the Blogs/Wikis List page.

Wikis
